Welcome to my ...Blog.

It is December 14, and that means Thailand is just 3 weeks away. With some embarrassment, I began this blog today. I say embarrassment because for me, blogging has such a pretentious connotation. Here, let me write my thoughts and emotions that are so great and deep that I have to publish them into cyber space so I can be properly misunderstood....That's what I think when I think about a blogger. But now I am one of them--although I hope to use this as a means of sharing my travels and stories with friends and family-without sending and exorbitant amount of repetitive emails. Also, you can check this whenever you'd like to know what I'm up to, at your own leisure. So you see, this blogging thing (ugh, even just the word bugs me) is really a win-win situation. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself.

Until January,
Val

  1. Dear Val - You've come a long way from Alice in Wonderland. But you're still our little girl standing in front of the easel with your blue crayon. Our advice for your trip: Use all the colors but try and stay in the lines.

You continue to amaze and inspire us. We look forward to reading about your experiences in Thailand. Can't wait to hear how a grasshopper really tastes. Love Mom & Dad

  2. Hi Val, MeeMaw here. I have read your "Blog" with such amazement and pride, I am awed! You are indeed a caring and courageous girl. And you are missing your calling. You have such a gift for writing, I felt as though I was reading a novel and I cannot wait for the next chapter. Be cautious, aware, and IN THE MOMENT. I love you, Always, MeeMaw
