ADDRESS!

Hey all,

I have finally figured out my mailing address, so here it is:

#9 E, St. 174, Sangkat Phsar Thmey III, Khan Qaun Penh, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

mouthful, ain't it?

Also, just a warning: I have sent lots of postcards and letters at the beginning of my trip and they still have not found their way to the intended party-so just to let you know, not the most reliable mail system.

Hi {{{{{Val}}}} I'm thrilled to follow your blog and so glad you are having an adventure!! I'm delighted your mom is going over to visit, she's an adventurous spirit too!!

Do you have an email address I could write to? I just spent 2 weeks in India and have an email with a link to my pix that you might enjoy, especially since I went to Delhi and Agra.

The above quote comes from Mark Twain, and its message has stuck with me from the first time I read it. I had an art professor once who's mantra, "Be Brave," inspired me to create some of my best pieces. He encouraged me to follow and push my concepts and ideas as far as they could go. Both Mark Twain's words and a professor's lesson have proved to be a guiding force in my post-graduate plans.

This January, I travel to Thailand to teach English. I hope to experience a new culture and everything that includes: food, people, lifestyles, beliefs, social norms, music, language...the list is long. I share this adventure with Susan, one of my greatest friends from Franklin & Marshall. In 2007, I traveled to New Zealand to visit her while she studied in Dunedin and I saw the most incredible mountains and untouched natural landscapes of my life. We were both in Europe spring of 2008, and we traveled to Barcelona one weekend, and Vienna and Prague another, hiking in the Pyrenees, checking out the Vienna Boys choir, and smoking cigars along the Charles Bridge over the Vltava River. January of 2009 I flew out to Colorado to visit Susan in Estes Park and we hiked through a snowy Rocky Mountain National Park. We have found that we are compatible traveling partners and we share the love of adventure.
